Michele Craig is a CPA, CMA and Elite-level QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She is the founder of BookSmarts, an accounting software training and consulting firm based in Barrie and serving Ontario businesses, both in-person and virtually. Michele’s early career as a company Controller helped her to gain valuable insights into how accounting systems operate and the best way to set up software to support business recording and reporting needs. This session will assist entrepreneurs in the early stages of business to assess whether doing their own books makes sense for them and for their company. Facilitator Michele Craig, CPA CMA will explore: resources required for managing books; which tasks are a natural fit for entrepreneurs to do themselves, and how to assess training options to ensure they gain the necessary skills for managing their books correctly. Should self-managed books not be a good fit, Michele will discuss what to look for in a bookkeeper and also present a typical division of duties for sharing the bookwork with a bookkeeper.4 Days / 30 Expert and Inspiring Speakers
