I received my BA (Sociology and Global Studies) and my Master of Education from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am completing my Doctor of Education at Western University in the Field of Educational Leadership in the Community Leadership cohort. I am a member of Laurier’s Centre for Leading Research in Education (CLRiE) with a focus on lifespan, living, and learning. I served in the Division of Student Affairs at Wilfrid Laurier University from 2003-2020 supporting the complex needs of undergraduate students living in residence and commuting to campus. I led the development of the Residence Education unit at Laurier which coordinates an integrated curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular student experience. I foster a culture of collaboration and championed the co-creation of innovative programs that facilitate service delivery with campus partners. I provided leadership on numerous campus committees and sought out opportunities for academic and student affairs to learn and grow together. I served the Municipal Innovation Council (MIC) as the Innovation Officer in Bruce County, Ontario from August 2020 – September 2021. My leadership experience and competencies in organizational development and capacity building aligned with the MIC’s mandate to identify shared solutions to shared problems in communities throughout Bruce County. I built an innovation ecosystem for 1500+ municipal employees that fosters collaborative problem solving amongst all eight member municipalities. I developed a strategic framework, built the capacity needed to advance the strategy, and I led numerous projects that aligned with the strategy. I now serve Georgian College as Executive Director, Owen Sound Campus. I am part of Georgian’s senior leadership team and oversee the strategic direction of the Owen Sound Campus. This includes cultivating, developing, and nurturing positive relationships with community, government and industry partners. I ensure continued quality programs and exceptional service delivery as well as provide oversight for campus administration, organizational planning, and operations. The opportunity to share knowledge and skills as well as learn from professionals working in education energizes me most. The immersive learning experiences provided to undergraduate and graduate education students will strengthen our collective capacity and equip us to meet the needs of the people we serve.3 days / 50+ speakers
