Angie Ricci, president of Angel Tours & Entertainment Inc., is the only female founder in Canada to have built a motorcoach transportation company, from the ground up. That’s one of many achievements in a long list of nominations and awards. After 23 years of business, she is still active in the day-to-day operations and recently used that knowledge to design a mobile app and web solution to digitally transform the commercial driving industry. June 2021 she graduated from Founders Institute Waterloo- Toronto Cohort where she accelerated her new tech start-up, DriverDX…a SaaS-enabled, Professional Drive Marketplace that connects carriers to qualified drivers with available hours, and more. Even though the pandemic put the brakes on travel, she spent the next 18 months participating in stakeholder meetings to address the state of the industry. Angie is known for her philanthropy in mental health and supporting other female lead businesses, including Kaapittiaq, an Inuit-owned social enterprise. “When I started Angel Tours in 1998 I didn’t have any female mentors to aspire me so throughout the years, I became one.” Angie is humble, kind and tenacious. She represents the Angel brand well treating her staff as family. She is the true Angel in all her endeavors reminding us that true leadership comes from a place of courage and kindness.
